King Charles has plan for dealing with protesters during controversial Australia tour

King Charles and Queen Camilla are in Australia for a Royal Tour, and while it got off to a rocky start, the best thing to do is keep calm and carry on, says one royal expert.
Charles has been traveling to the Commonwealth country since he was 17, but this is the first time he has been to Australia as King.
He was greeted by well-wishers, but there were some who were not that keen to see him, with protestors shouting at him, “You are not my King!”
Daily Express US spoke to Pauline Maclaran, author of Royal Fever, who said: “Their visit appears to be going well — in terms of drawing appreciative crowds to see them — and Charles and Camilla do seem to be making an impact.”
And for those people who aren’t all that appreciative, that the King and Queen of Australia have come to visit, Maclaran said: “I think these kind of demonstrations will have been well anticipated and it’s definitely a case of ‘keep calm and carry on.’”
The Royal Tour was highly anticipated, with the six-day visit packed with events — like a visit to Parliament, a community BBQ, and a visit to a library, just to name a few — but when all six governors of state declined the invitation to join the welcome reception, it kind of dampened the visit, before it even begun. We asked Professor Maclaran about the politicians sending their regrets, blaming scheduling conflicts, who said: “I suspect they are trying to appease voters who may vote for a republic, as well as possibly trying to put pressure on the government to hold another poll.”
She added: “It’s fairly well known that a considerable number of Australians do not support a monarchy, including the present Prime Minister (Anthony Albanese).
“But it seems there will not be another vote on it for the foreseeable future. However, Charles has made his position clear, I think, in saying that he is happy for Australia to be a republic should a majority of people vote for this. So it seems, it is up to the Australians to sort it.”

It seems like the monarchy may be living on borrowed time when it comes to Australia, based on Maclaran’s commentary, who said: “I’m sure it is only a matter of time before Australia does abolish the monarchy.”
She added: “I think there is rather a disconnect in contemporary times when Australia has a diverse population, many of whom have no British roots at all and will feel nothing for the monarchy.”
